📍 Washington, D.C. | June 7–9, 2025✉️ Hosted by the Partnership to Advance Cardiovascular Health (PACH)
I’ve learned that life after hospice doesn’t mean the fight is over—it just means the mission is clearer.
That’s why I’m so proud to share that I’ve been invited to the Cardiometabolic Leadership Academy (CLA) this June in Washington, D.C. This isn’t just a conference—it’s a calling.
CLA is a space where heart disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and obesity aren’t just clinical terms—they’re lived realities being tackled by some of the brightest minds in healthcare: clinicians, policy leaders, researchers, and, yes—patients like me.
Why This Invitation Matters
I’m not going just to take notes. I’m going to represent. To show that patients deserve a seat at the table.
I’ll be walking into that room as:
A hospice survivor
A woman living with heart valve disease
A patient who knows the power of access
An advocate turning lived experience into real change
When policy decisions are made, they often miss one key voice: ours. CLA is an opportunity to change that.

What I’m Looking Forward To
✅ Connecting with other leaders in cardiovascular and cardiometabolic health
✅ Learning evidence-based strategies to strengthen advocacy
✅ Exploring solutions to improve equity and patient-centered care
✅ Using my story to inspire change and build bridges across the system
This feels like a full-circle moment. From barely surviving...To speaking up in Washington, D.C. on behalf of patients everywhere.
I’ll be sharing more as we get closer, but for now—thank you for being part of this journey. This isn’t just my story—it’s a story for anyone who’s ever fought to be seen, heard, and healed.
Let’s keep walking this road together. ❤️🩹🥑
